I was invited to perform at the Wivenhoe May Fair, so thought I’d make a day of it and travel up early. So I wandered about town for a few hours and amongst others, made this recording at the Jetty where the ferry docks.

I had a spot of breakfast with my good friend Dave Valentine on our trip to Manchester, in one of our favourite greasy spoons, the Koffee Pot. We were catching up with some great people that we hadn’t seen for a while and also doing some research and prep for 2 new films. Exciting!!

I took time out from the Bloc Weekender to take a walk all the way along the front here to the harbour wall and life boat station. On the way back I bought some chips and ate them sitting on this bench.

I spent two days riding around Laindon and Basildon as part of my work for the Genius Loci project. I tried to call in on some friends but they were all out. So instead I hung out at the shops on Ballards Walk and had a bite to eat on the street.

We went to the market to buy some food for our dinner. There was an abundance of meat and fish and shoppers. You can hear the sound of fish being hit with a hammer, fish scales being scraped off etc etc. This recording is in two parts of 5 minutes, one of each lane of the market.

I helped a good friend to move into his new, very nice, digs, situated close by Hackney Downs Rail Station. It was a cool afternoon. We ate food. And had a conversation.

I went for a bike ride and ended up sitting next to this bandstand for a rest and to eat some mixed nuts, raisins and mango.
